We are writing a London City Guide, but we need you to tell us what to put in it! Your challenge for week one is to shoot and describe YOUR London!
Picture an empty white book, sitting cold and lonely, just waiting to be filled with your bright and colourful photos and your heartfelt words: well that’s what we’ve got. Our editor Greg has only been to London twice (both times to see Les Miserables) and he needs your help to write the London City Guide. This week Greg wants to know about YOUR London – here’s his cry for help!
How to help Greg…
- Log on to Lomography.com and go to the LomoLocation submissions page
- Upload 3 or 4 or more great photos (higher resolution the better – your photos should have at least 1200 pixels in either width or height)
- A few sentences on why you love your location and why people should check it out
- Tell us the exact address where it’s located and how to get there
- Tag your entry with “LCG” (London City Guide) so we can find them.
- If you have a LomoLocation to submit that does not fit this weeks theme, please go ahead and submit it anyway, it will still be considered for the book (so long as it’s about London of course!)
Aurélien Valette has been at the head of communication and events production for the French photography festival Les Rencontres d'Arles for 12 years now. He honored us by accepting to be one of the judges of our TEN AND ONE AWARDS. Today, he tells us about what he likes about photography and tells us a bit more about what inspires him.
There is no way to go but up for creative people. Rest is for the lazy, or so we believe. We like to push our limits and boundaries, yearning to be 'better'. "Better" is a myth, even you, photographer, needs rest.

London based visual artist and photographer Antonio Curcetti shoots exclusively with film. He has photographed bands such as Toy and Slowdive. All of his shoots are dripping with the glorious aesthetics of film. We gave him a Lomo'Instant Wide to test out and he talked to us about his work.
UK based blogger, photographer, camera reviewer and all round film enthusiast Hamish Gill is now one of our TEN AND ONE AWARD judges. We talked to him about his obsession for compact film cameras and what inspires him to shoot with film.
Colors mean differently for all walks of life. For this week we have coquelicot, a bright red named from the wild corn poppy. Lomography tries to understand the meaning of each complex color found in the gradient and what it means for most of us photographers.
Nothing but grays and concrete paint the town dull. Most days, the city is as bleak. Maybe you just need some yellow vitamins as your daily dose. Find them in whatever shape and size with the Lomo'Instant Square.
