Get a piece of Lomo-Home

2011-06-09 11

What fascinates us all about Lomography? I think it is a lifestyle that one can live unrestricted (outside the borders).. even at home!

Here I give you a chance to make your home more beautiful.

So, I’ve just moved and somehow, despite the new furniture, it is still uncomfortable!
A little more indirect light would of course be great, and I’m a fan of pretty light features…I thought to myself: Well you have plenty of time.. get to the hardware store! No sooner said than done, i went!

At the hardware store i wasn’t sure what i was looking for…but then I got an idea! To brighten my hallway i need a large lamp and after about 15 minutes I found what would soon be my new project.

At home, after i had unpacked the lamp shade and discovered the perfect place for it… it just didn’t seem right

So, I disposed the lamp shade, turned on my PC and started to print out some photos: 10 cm × 10cm

After about an hour I had adapted this format and i had about 45 photos printed on photo paper.
All i had to do now was cut out the photos because I had printed them on paper at 10 × 15 paper!

Then, I unpacked my Lomography photo clips and started putting together my creation linking together all my photographs.

I had a problem trying to mount the photos onto the lampshade so i looked to my tackle shop and bought fish bait hooks! A bag of ten cost about £1.54.

I divided the photos by putting a clip in the middle of the photo so i could gain access to the small hole in the clip.

Then it was completed!

The whole process was so much fun! and i am really pleased with the result. Not only do i have a pretty light feature in my apartment but i have something that is Lomo lifestyle.

Here is a list of parts required:
- A Lamp of Scandinavian furniture store for £6.16
- A packet of Lomoclips from the Lomography shop £7.00
- 6 Fish bait hooks from the fishing shop £1.54
- And of course your Lomo pictures about £12.31

I hope I have given you an idea to try yourself so you too can have a piece of Lomo-style at home (like your very own LomoWall)

Lomo on!

May be worth protecting/laminating the photos in the first place - and as for the fire hazard, you should all be using eco bulbs anyway THINK OF THE PLANET :)
