The basics of self portraits are quite simple; all you have to do is turn your camera around and shoot! Self portraits or photos with a friend are really simple! Cameras in general are made to take all kinds of photos, scenery, macro shots, action photos, panoramics, and self portraits.
Every camera is capable of taking self portraits. It doesn’t matter if you have the Spinner, Fisheye, the LC-A+, the Holgas, or the Dianas. All you have to do is set the focus to 1 meter or under, point it at yourself, and click! The other obvious way would be to take a picture of your reflection; mirrors, puddles, windows, etc.
Another method of taking self portraits would involve setting the camera on a tripod, or surface. At that point, you would either have to have a timer setting on the camera, or a cable release.
I myself have never used a cable release, but they’re in the online shop!
It really doesn’t matter what kind of camera you use to take pictures of yourself. To take self portraits, I’ve used ……
A Holga CFN 120
A Diana Mini
And a Fujifilm Instax Mini 7S
But it really doesn’t matter what kind of camera you use to take pictures of yourself. Any camera will work!
And to spice up your portraits, you can always use color filters, multiple exposures, and friends!
So get out there, and shoot till you drop! But remember to turn the camera around once in a while (;
