My Summer at L'Escala

2011-02-21 1

Friday, the 10th of September 2010. One of the last sunny beach weekends. There’s only a short time left before going back to the routine of studying and working. You have to make the most of the holidays! What else could be better than doing it in this beautiful little village of the catalan, Costa Brava.

L’Escala was founded as a little fishing harbor dependent on the neighbouring village of Empúries. Nowadays, it has become an interesting spot for tourists looking for beaches and sun.

The majority of its beaches are made of fine sand, cold water, and a sea that doesn’t cover you up until you go deep some meters towards the horizon. On the other hand, if one prefers stone creeks, you can also choose between little stone creeks with amazing sea bottoms. Personally, I was delighted with Montgó Creek, a little beach surrounded by green mountains and little white houses. Moreover, if you have a car at your disposal, you can go to the surrounding towns, like Cadaqués, Pals, Llançá, Roses o Figueres. So, if next summer you don’t have a holiday destination, I recommend you to spend some days in any of these beautiful little villages of the catalan, Costa Brava.
