Get ready to feel classy. If you’ve ever needed a film that will pack a mean black and white contrast punch, this is your man. Read on and see how it’s everyone’s man…
I was surprised with the punch this film delivers. I don’t know why, after years of faithfully using Lomography’s products with complete satisfaction, but black and white has been hard for me to perfect, to find the perfect film, the perfect… reason. Then a friend had a perfect reason. This story is especially strange because this “friend” is the “new girlfriend” of the father of my children, and I was nothing short of destroyed when he left me… Over the years, this girl won my heart, too, as well as the heart’s of my kids and then…. left. Or was going to leave. For good reason. They are since back together, thank goodness, but she wanted me – ME! to do a photo shoot sorta documenting this painful process. I love this girl, but … ugh…? It was surprisingly easy and painless, even when the main idea she wanted to portray was illustrating “their song” with a Polaroid picture of the two of them.
So we went at it. And when I picked up my pictures, my first roll of this wondrous Lomography Black and White 120, I fell in love. With the film, with the photo shoot concept, with my genius and incredible execution…haha! But really, if you have something worth documenting, especially classic black and white style, this is the film for you.
Even if the concept is a little painful and makes you throw up a little, cross my, ahem, heart, it will all be worth it when you pick up your jewels of a collection of photographs.
