The world most martial photo camera. Again a boring day at a local flea market and there’s nothing a Lomographer’s heart desires. But don`t forget to keep your objective in view.
There it was, a strange looking metal case with an emblem on it which looks somehow familiar. When I opened the case everything felt into place: There it is, the legendary Zenith Photosniper! Almost mint condition. A Zenith FS 3, a 300mm f4,5 Tair-3 lens, matching filters for b&w photography, matching gun stock, which you can shoot your pics and a normal lens for getting on the streets without being in trouble all the time. Two screwdrivers for a fast repair and two canister for finishing your your own film have been in the case as well. Of course I got home happily with my new stuff.
So I wanted to shoot that thing. But with peoples’ paranoia in that time I was really afraid of causing trouble and so I decided to shoot my test roll out of my balcony and my window. There I was, sitting at my window, somehow like Lee Harvey Oswald in the library, shooting some fast pictures of people passing by, figuring out that this isn’t that brilliant idea to aim on people with a camera that looked like a rifle.
The test roll was finished pretty fast so I got it to my lab of confidence and half an hour later I got the first results. Not that bad this 300mm Tair lens.
Just to show the gap, normal lens vs Tair tele lens:
The lesson is clear: It is martial, provocative, spectacular.
Who’s on the street with that thing can’t avoid society’s attention and is for sure always good for a police check. So for every show off out there the must have for next summer. Are you strong enough?
