The Eiffel Tower is a steel lattice form work and it is an architectural masterpiece. The towers weight is 10000 tons and it is about 300m high. When I was in Paris it was one of the highlights to visit the Eiffel Tower and to walk up the 654 stairs although it was really hard. Most of the people take the elevator to the platforms from where you have a really amazing and breathtaking view all over Paris. By the way: The highest viewing platform is 276m high and is the highest platform which is open to the public all over Europe.

The best time to see the Eiffel Tower is at night because the tower is illuminated which is very impressing and somehow mystic. After your Eiffel Tower sightseeing tour you can spend some time at the Champ de Mars – there use to be street artists showing their stagecraft and/or musicianship.
