Favourite Photolabs: The E-6 Specialists

Sometimes you just want to shoot E-6 straight. The vibrant colours, the projection capabilities or just the joy of holding your positives into the light and feeling AS IF YOU ARE THERE! :D But, where to process?

Despite the resurgence of film photography (there are some nitpickers that assert that digital also uses analog technologies) and the rise in demand for processing, we have experienced a steady decline in film processing availability, especially pertaining to fair price and good quality. As a matter of fact, in Germany, some of the large labs have moved on to provide abysmal quality and service. Particularly my slides have come back rather often in a really sorry state. For which one must pay as well! And THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. The film is ruined, for one. Or is there? Well, you can send your film to the professionals.

There are still professional labs for professional photographers. But most of the time, the prices are too steep to accommodate Lomographic throughput. Or are they? Well, at least at EUROCOLOR Gera, they aren’t! It is a professional lab which delivers high quality E-6 processing at a very reasonable price! And the best thing is you mail them the films and they mail it back to you! No fuss, just throw the rolls in the pre-paid processing envelope and then mail them, you will receive them back one week later, total relaxation. I heard you can mail from everywhere, but best drop a line regarding prices. I bought my pre-paid processing envelopes for < 2 Euros/film!

I'm shooting some Velvia 50 in my Olympus XA at the moment and I'm going to get it properly processed :-)

Yay! Velvia 50 rocks! Although, my last 120 roll with the Lubitel came out black, even though I had it pushed one stop ;(

Can anyone recommend a good place to send film for E6 processing in the States? I can't find anywhere which isn't seriously out of my price range, and I have TONS of ektachrome to shoot.
