Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is one of the main attractions of Singapore’s first Integrated Resort (IR) – Resorts World Sentosa. USS was opened to the public on March 18, 2010 and Christmas 2010 marked its first Xmas celebration.
Although USS is one of the smallest Universal Studios theme parks in the franchise, there are a total of 24 attractions, 18 of which are original or specially adapted for the park. USS consists of seven uniquely themed zones which surround a lagoon. Each zone is based on a blockbuster movie or television show, featuring their own unique attractions, character appearances, dining, and shopping areas. The key attraction of USS is the world’s tallest dueling roller coaster based on the hit television show, Battlestar Galactica. Unfortunately, it is currently closed due to safety concerns over its structural integrity.
Nonetheless, for the holiday season, one can see that USS had put in a lot of effort to decorate the place. A giant Christmas Tree greets the visitors at the end of Hollywood Boulevard.
In the New York zone, the street lamps and buildings are nicely decked with holiday decors! One can imagine that one is in New York enjoying the holiday season, sans the blizzard and heavy snowfalls that plague a lot of countries at this time of the year.
I must say that the holiday decorations at USS really liven up the spirits and make it a more cheerful place!
