This photo was taken at my gorgeous god daughter’s 2nd birthday party (August 2010). The weather was perfect, Esther was in a really good mood, everyone was having fun and I was there to capture it all. I took my newly purchased Yashica T4 , loaded with a roll of Fuji Neopan B/W 400 film . I had a lot of fun that afternoon with Esther, we painted, ate cake, played in the garden and bounced on her trampoline (it was her main birthday present). This photo was captured while we were playing on the trampoline. I’m so happy with this photo – I love her eyes in this photo, I think it’s the best photo of Esther I’ve taken and one of the best photos I’ve taken !

How long I’ve been a Lomographer:

I’d say I’m an accidental Lomographer. I got given my first Lomography camera by a very good friend of mine (Christy) for Christmas a few years ago. It was a first generation Fisheye. A funny looking thing, but I thought I’d give this film contraption a go and I snapped away over the Christmas holidays. I fell in love with the results! I was addicted from there, a round 18 months later I bought an LC-A+ and that became my main camera and still is. My girlfriend got my an Oktomat for Christmas 2009, earlier this year I bought the Mini Diana and Yashica T4 , I’ve found both cameras really fun to use and loved the results . Just a few days ago I bought a Contax T2 and a Super Sampler, along with 19 rolls of Lomo film. I’m addict, that’s for sure. I keep looking out for what accessories to buy, whether it’s an instant back for my LC-A+ or a flash for my Mini Diana.

My Gallery:

In my own words….

I love taking photos; my gallery is a mixture of shots taken over the past few years (I hope you like them). I’ve been influenced over the past few years by everyone on the Lomography society, whether it be techniques, ideas or comments on the photos I’ve taken. Some of my favourite photographers are David Swanson, Autumn De Wilde, Terry Richardson and Neil Kendall. There aren’t many days when you won’t find me without a camera or two in my pocket, whether in be on the walk to work, a random day out with my girl or going to a burlesque night in Chester.

Music is another big love in my life, I love going to gigs – Flaming Lips, Be Your Own Pet, White Stripes, M.I.A , Greenhornes, Major Lazer and Fyfe Dangerfield ( I also try to make it to at least one festival a year). I live on a farm right out in the heart of the Cheshire country side, I love going for walks on the hills with my doggy (Brandy) and my camera – many a good day have been spent on those hills. Ladies in life – Frida Kahlo , my mother , my god daughter and my girl Ally , a hold them all close to my heart and they have all influenced me in their own special way. In short, I’m a professional hippy, a hoarder and a bit random.

Some friends I recommend watching: welland
eatcpcks dkformsma – all good friends and great photographers!
