While on a tiny tour which I helped organize for two of my friends, we came to Berlin. The last time I’ve been to Berlin was 12 years ago and I had no real clue what to expect. I didn’t even know the club we rented but it was a fun night, thankfully I have the photographs to remember it by.
After my friend booked the club I heard the wildest stories – that the area is really rough, for example. It was also mentioned in the tour diary of the German band “Wir sind Helden” and let’s just say it didn’t exactly received golden reviews but when I arrived in Kreuzberg and went downstairs I was pleasantly surprised – thrilled, to be honest!
I didn’t expect it to have this old school look, everything was so green and red! My boys were also happy about the location. They had a nice backstage room with a bed and everything and the staff was more than nice and friendly.
We had a lot of fun during the sound check and the show was a complete success!

Photographer CJ Clarke had no idea what would conspire years later when he began a simple street-documentary series recording the daily lives of people from Basildon. In ten years, he would find out for himself the growing discontent of the national government, right before Brexit took place.
Photographers capture uniqueness. Fashion photographers strive for new faces. Conflict photographers are present, when history is made. And some folks, like me, go to hidden places with an own narrative. Like the car cemetery of Båstnäs, deep within the forrest maze, where Sweden touches Norway
All right, film may not be the most used in all photographic purposes, but the growing numbers of users in the realm of art photography should not be dismissed. Here's what you can expect when the analogue grind becomes a usual among art photographers again.
