To go out and make good memories is one of the many goals one has to do when the summer season starts and Lomography will make it more special for everyone who pushes the shutter button!
Arguably the most favourable season for any photographic opportunities could be the month of June. As you don’t have to worry about any insufficiency when it comes to taking photographs as the sun will never leave you in the dark and more possibly will get you burnt and overexposed (i.e., lightleaks and such happy accidents!) so wearing a sunscreen is an optional matter.
But blackcoffeeandtantrum had a much better idea on dodging off the heat of the sun and that is by diving headfirst into the pool, it might hurt at first, but once you get the hang of things and made yourself comfortable, then it would just be the best time for Lomo LC-A+ w/ Krab to join you in the water as well!
So what else do the other megalomomaniacs had been up to during the good month of June? Let’s then take a look back at those fantastic snaps that made us “like-ing” for more!
Everyday a thousand photographs come in the community, all in lieu of the Lomographic aesthetic. Some just shine just above the rest -- and we'd like to commend those Lomographers who took their art beyond and caught everyone's attention. Let's take a look at the most popular snapshots of 2016.
Solène Ballesta is a Parisian photographer who started photography at 15 years old. This talented photographer was awarded in 2014 by the special mention of the young fashion photography Picto Awards. In her shots, Solène drives us to an enchanted world. For this series, she used the Daguerreotype Achromat Art Lens and she's telling us the story of a woman who is waiting for someone or something in her small theater and who decides to venture to the morning mist. “It is the uncertainty that charms one. A mist makes things wonderful.” said Oscar Wilde.
Working behind the scenes here in Lomography are some of the most creative and passionate individuals who make our community awesome. Since the holiday season is coming up, we asked if we could take a peek into their wishlists.
Do you long for the dreamy soft focus that only the Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens can give your photos? Grab it in the lens mount of your choice! Brass versions are now available for purchase in the shop!
More and more filmmakers are going back to shooting with an analogue camera. One of them is Christopher Patrick Goode who recently submitted a silent film shot entirely with our very own LomoKino to a competition. Watch his engaging short movie that explores the psychological effects of war.
Today, we gain altitude with Ben Nardini, director of photography and pilot of drone for Almo film production. Passionate about image, whether static or moving, Ben meets the LC-Wide in the LGS in New York. He is taking this little analogue camera everywhere ever since, even when the good fellow leaves for Alaska. Let's go for a special meeting "from the top"!
Coming from a family of artists, community newcomer Montague Fendt got acquainted with the art of image-making at an early age. What started out as a simple means to record memories, his passion for photography turned into a career as a director for advertising, documentaries, and indie movies.
There are many advantages to scanning your own film: it is cost-effective, you get to control the output, and you're able to scan special formats that most film labs aren't capable of. If you're new to film scanning, here are a few tips to get you started.
A bunch of quotes can be cited when talking about what our pets mean to us. However, the special bond between owner and pet are sometimes expressed in a different language -- one that is exclusively spoken by spirit and heart.
What Lomography is all about, beyond the cameras and aesthetic, is the people who share these with. Year 2016 was a memorable year for all of us, and we'd like to treat everyone who strengthens and inspires the community by sharing their own works.
Hollie Fernando is a one-of-a-kind photographer who always wanted to help people embrace their own skin and feel good about themselves. With her inspiring work she is motivating women all over the world to love their own bodies and feel confident and beautiful.
Like a pat on the back, liking your fellow Lomographers’ photos can go a long way. This simple gesture is sometimes enough to motivate them to continue shooting and improving. Meet this month’s batch of Lomographers who eagerly spread the Lomo-love throughout the community one click at a time.
