Horizon on the Ground+

2011-05-04 7

This is not a special tipster, I just expand the thoughts from my friend, and share with all of you.

June 2007, I brought my Horizon Perfekt 。September the same year, I shot my 4th roll and one of the picture is shown in above.

At the very beginning, when I owned this valuable camera, I do a lot of research on how do others use this camera, although there is much more users of L-CA+, Fisheye, Holga…(not Diana F+ yet at that time), there is one picture I still can remember till today: a Horizon shot on ground with a shiny surface.

I shoot the picture that shown in above, in Asia-World Expo, Hong Kong, when there was no exhibitions nor performances. As expected, that picture is one of my favorite shots. And therefore, I would sometime put my Horizon on a shiny ground or surface and take a shot.

Later on, I discover that, besides the shiny ground, puddles caused by heavy rain are also a great place for taking this kind of shot.

Afterwards, I’ve tried to find some grounds with special patterns or textures, with the same method, putting Horizon on the ground and shoot. It is hard to imagine how interesting they are unless you shoot like me or lie down on the floor and have a look in your view finder.

It is so easy to share anything on internet, more and more articles are published in Lomogragy Online Magazine. After reading the experiences shared by other Lomographers, you dare to try something, or be more creative, and share your own experience with the world wide web. The satisfaction is much larger than just having some great series of photos!

    The Infallible Electric Eye

By far the oddest-looking camera I own, the Electric Eye is an auto-exposure viewfinder camera made by Bell & Howell in the late 1950s. I picked one up online and ended up with another one, that came with a very cool, retro looking carrying case, from my grandfather. It took a little while to try these two out but after running some film I found that this camera is a lot of fun to shoot with.
