A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Metropolitan Phoenix area, the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall – seemingly hidden from the rest of the city, encases incredible public art pieces including, most notably, the LOVE statue for residents and tourists alike to visit and appreciate – much like what I did!
‘The LOVE statue? In PHOENIX?! I have to see this!’ I remember telling myself but why it took nearly four years for me to really scout out the location and visit it, still baffles me to this day. It’s an amazing, relaxing and gorgeous place to hang out and take photos – and also climb the statue and goof around. And who doesn’t like rolling down grassy hills? I don’t care how old you are, it’s still fun!
And that’s exactly how I felt at the Scottsdale Civic Center – like a kid again. Just the simplicity of roaming around a park inundated with ponds, rose bushes, and public art pieces make me want to go back. Families were taking strolls through the park, taking photos, and having a quiet lunch away from the chaotic city life of the Phoenix Metropolitan area. This is one of those “I need to get away” areas.
If you’re ever in the Phoenix area, Scottsdale Civic Center is definitely a place to check out and spend an afternoon at and have fun!
