When I was recently asked on what inspires me to grab my camera everyday and shoot like there’s no tomorrow, it took only 1/250’s of a second for the answer to pop in my head. Let me share to you the story of my muse: Irina.
Puerto Rico/New York
Soon to be Broadway Star
Like sunny days, ocean views, long exposures, and light painting, this girl [my girl] is by far, my favorite subject to shoot. Irina is a life bomb, ready to explode and turn your world upside down. She has the most beautiful voice a singer could have. Not only that, but she’s a very talented dancer, and not to mention all around actress and artist. Since her early days she’s been involved with everything artistic. From the San Juan Children’s Choir, to different dance and modeling academies, she has won several dance competitions, monologue competitions, and was even accepted to complete a BA in Julliard School of Music in New York. But as any person who has their goals straight in mind, she rejected Julliard and decided to pursue her career in Musical Theater, now currently finishing her degree in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.
Besides from her many talents in the stage works, she has the most amazing charisma, with which she can easily conquer the world, as she has already done with me. So now you know why I’m always using her as my subject whenever she’s around. She has the softest and cleanest skin, wild hair, and the perfect set of eyes and smile. I bet anything, if you were me, you’d be taking her picture all day too.
P.s. She’s the one responsible for getting me into Lomography, so it’s the least I can do!
