Pinhole-ing the Instant

Diana Multi-Pinhole Operator with Instant Back: the dream-team rings the bell in a way no other cam/accessory in the world can do.

Again, let’s start with the common knowledge: what can we say about pinhole? “Infinite depth of field” and “long exposure” are the terms that come first.

What is the added value of Diana Multi-Pinhole Operator? Multi-pinhole and filters.

And, finally, what’s the (most addicting) part of the Instant Back? Of course, to see the results right away!

So that, we do have a really interesting field for stretching the time experiments: take a tripod and start shooting. Here we are talking about the original Instant Mini 800 ISO, since there is no correcting lens. With a single pinhole it takes less then one second on the very sunny Tel-Aviv weather to reach the correct exposure. In moderate indoors light it can take 5 to 20 minutes (sometimes even more, remember that the difference between 20 and 40 minutes is 1 stop only :) Don’t worry about the viewfinder – the focus distance is very short, so centralize it properly and nearly everything except the lowest top and the bottom will appear on the image.

I’ll let the pictures speak and promise to submit a few cool tips after the break :)
