There are a lot of restaurants, pubs and bars in the Oldtown of Düsseldorf, Germany. I want to introduce you to my favourite: Space Burger! If you are looking for tasty, fresh, huge and crazy burgers and want to dine in a trashy atmosphere, you should go there!
Yes, they serve burgers, but no, this isn’t fast food! Quite the opposite, each burger is freshly made (with a lot of love) and has its own story. There are no ‘normal’ burgers. Ok, the Cheeseburger (X-10) and the Cheeseburger with bacon (Barbarella) might be considered normal, but the others are quite freaky compositions. No matter if you want cherries, nuts, fried eggs, spinach, dates, capers, artichoke, bamboo sprouts or taco chips – you will find some unusual combination. But don’t be scared off, it tastes delicious.
My favorite: El Morte Del Torro with taco chips, guacamole, corne, fresh avocados, cheese, japaleños, tomatoes, pickles, onions, burger sauce, salsa, salad and of course fresh beef. Awesome and so delicious that I always stick with this choice, although they have a large selection of burgers… and now I’ve gotten really hungry just from writing this up… mean!
Aside from burgers with beef, they also offer chicken, fish or vegetarian burgers, salads and a lot more.
The atmosphere has to match the burgers – and it really does. When I first visited the restaurant, I was pretty flashed by the trashy decoration: Vintage wallpapers, a golden ceiling, crystal lamps or even Chewbecca framed in gold. The burgers taste even better in such an ambiance. ;)
Neustr. 41, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany
Oldtown, train/bus stop: Heinrich-Heine Allee
There’s also a second restaurant in the same city:
Pfalzstr. 15, Ecke Schwerinstraße, 40477 Düsseldorf, Germany
Bon appetit :)
