The story goes like this:-

Right before we head out to Johor Bahru (JB)

noreen : ok I’ll bring along… let u try and poison u

The moment we reach JB
noreen : here, try to pull the cord before we load the film
“joey pull the cord and let go”
joey : is it just like that? So fast? SHIOK!!!!
noreen : yes… that’s it…. Let’s spin

joey : u sit there I sit here….. then shoot from here
noreen : orhhh…..
joey : put this here… remove the table leh…

noreen, joey, elvis : orhhh…
elvis aka gor-geous : ehhh… I also wanna try one ….
“attempt to crouches and spin in between his sexy leg”
noreen, joey, beverly : orhhh… =_= …

“we happily spin and complete the roll… and I went to rewind the film and load a new film”

noreen: EHHH like never load properly leh “ with a very uncertain face =_+ “
joey : really ahh!!! “face look rather disappointed : ( ……. “
noreen : nvrm i reload again …
noreen : GOR GEOUSSS u have double sided tape and a small piece of hard paper?
elvis aka gor-geous : here cardboard and double sided tape
noreen : warh so big piece!!! got scissors??
“half sure that actually it was loaded properly half unsure”
“retrieved the film out and reload it in the spinner”
noreen : aiyah the most we double only lah!!!!!!
joey : ok ok…. nvrm lets continue and SPIN…….. before the sun goes down

“send the film to the lab, if the uncle from the lab tell u that your roll looks like ROJAK”
Higher chance that u got a very interesting roll of film!! – noreen-

The Beauty of Black and White

A popular quote by photojournalist Ted Grant goes, "When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their souls!" Indeed, the lack of vibrant color forces the viewer to see beyond what is on plain view and recognize the atmosphere surrounding a photograph. In this post, we've handpicked black and white shots taken in various situations and exhibit different moods.

Long Exposures Around Europe with the Minitar-1 Art Lens

One of the things I like the most about the Minitar-1 Art lens is how sharp the focus can be when you shoot with a small aperture. So if you are one of those that like to shoot at night, get a tripod, add this to a late dark winter afternoon, and you will end up with a bunch of beautiful long exposures. This is what I did on my last trip to Europe.

Cinematographer Michal Dabal on the Petzval Lens

Here’s what happens before we interview a photographer. We gush about the work though we have yet to find out the cameras and processes behind the brilliant composition or the light architecture. And even when they haven’t used a Lomo camera, we feature them anyway. But every once in a while comes a pro who uses one of our premium lenses at work and our fun cameras off-duty. This makes us mighty glad, more so when their images are good and worth sharing. We count cinematographer Michal Dabal's work among them.

Black and White Photography: The Forms of the World

Colors may be amped to look unreal, like nothing of this world. Shots may be doubled, cross-processed, post-processed, mixed up into collages. The possibilities are infinite, yet some photographers still prefer black and white. Even in 2016, it is an ode to classic values of precision and balance. Light and shadow must be one pleasing dance. And just like in a well-choreographed piece, forms are obvious or playing coy. It all depends on how you're looking.

    Photographic Pairs

When a photographer encounters a pair, an instinct rushes in, "Is this a special, intimate moment I just stumbled on?" Or else, those accidents of two objects, two birds, two swaying plants camping together especially for your photo. This might not be the case, but it's still a pleasant thing for patterns and quirks to find their way into an everyday shot.

A Hunt for Curios and Wonderful Patterns

Some photographers have an instinct for the unique. Whereas others aim to fashion the ordinary into a singular picture, these hunters are obsessed with what cannot be found elsewhere. They prize an exclusive scoop on architectural patterns, artisan quirks, and objects that stick out of an everyday scene. And when the photographers find them, they will twist and turn to get the most flattering angle. Only right for curiosities that beg to be shared.
