Lomography Gallery Store London - Where We Expect the Unecpected

As summer bids farewell and autumn looms around the corner there is lots of uncertainty in the air…. but not in LGS London! We embrace the unpredictable, we love taking chances and happy accidents are what it’s all about – Expect the Unexpected this month with our workshop schedule for September!

This isn’t any ordinary workshop… this is all about shooting some cool motion shots and getting fit at the same time! It all kicks off in front of Big Ben and you’ll make your way through St. James Park, Green Park & Hyde Park. The pack will be headed by Greg Ash and will finish off at the shop for a pictorial and judging of the snazziest retro jogger outfit. The one who comes best dressed wins a surprise prize! Headbands and bottled water will be provided. C’mon, get movin’!
P.S. Speed walkers also welcome (slow pokes are too)!
Tickets are £15 and include a headband, bottled water, lend-a-camera, a roll of film and discounts on film processing. Meet outside Westminster tube station, in front of WCT / Big Ben and finish up at the store.

Sept 9th Thursday 6pm – EXPERIMENTAL EXPOSURES: XR film meets the LC-A
Learn all about what to expect when shooting with our brand new range of film called the Redscale XR. Different speed settings on the camera means different results – from super intense red/orange colours to blue/green tones. The clincher? You get to test-drive the infamous Lomo LC-A camera with it!
Tickets are £10 and include lend-a-camera, a roll of film and discounts on film processing.

Sept 21st Tuesday 1pm – THE SURPRISE EXCHANGE: Camera Swap Doubles
Want to know what happens when 2 cameras collide? Come in for an afternoon of miss-matched film, formats and fun! You’ll get to test 2 separate cameras… first shooting a film through a Fisheye camera and reloading that same film into a completely different camera like the Coloursplash. What do you get when you do this? Crazy, random, unpredictable, AWESOME double exposures!
Tickets are £10 and include lend-a-camera, a roll of film and discounts on film processing.

Sept 30th Thursday 6pm – CONTROL THE UNEXPECTED with the Lubitel+
Meet this medium format wonder and learn how to create stunning controlled images depending on what film speed is used, what the light conditions are and how you manipulate the camera. To add an element of surprise, we’ll use slide film and cross-process to get crazy colour shifts and strong contrast and saturation.
Tickets are £20 and include lend-a-camera, a roll of film and discounts on film processing.

September not only brings about lots of change but it also happens to be a very special month for LGS London – It’s our anniversary month! It’s been ONE YEAR since we first opened our doors to the British public and you know what that means… P-A-R-T-Y time!

Come and celebrate our first year birthday with us on Thursday, 16th September 2010 from 6-10pm!
We’ll have live music, free-flowing drinks, goody bags, sweet treats and surprise discounts!

Please RSVP by sending an email to lomographyuk@lomography.com with subject “PARTY”. Email us and you’ll automatically be added on to our guest list – no need to wait for confirmation!

Blast from the Past: A Ride on the Route Master
Its our anniversary month and what better way to celebrate all things British and all things analogue than a ride on a good old fashioned Route Master!
On* Sunday, 26th September at 2pm* we’ll take a trip down memory lane; through the streets of London Town and past the main tourist spots with a quick stop at a tradition English pub for a pint (or whatever you fancy).
Tickets are £20 and include a bus ticket, mid-journey drink, a roll of film and discounts on film processing. Cameras purchased on the day by ticket holders are 20% off (except premium cameras).
