Fisheye Architecture Photography in Madrid by Diego Iglesias

Hello Diego, welcome to our online magazine! Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello! I'm Diego Iglesias, also known as @wiicked__ on social media. I'm 24 years old and I'm currently working in a small supermarket in my neighborhood, but the truth is that photography has been my greatest passion over the years.
When did you start with analogue photography? What got you excited about it?
This question brings me back to my childhood! My mother used to have a small point & shoot Kodak camera. She loved taking photos of my brother and me during summer trips or every kind of special moment. That was her way of keeping family memories, so the camera became very precious to her. I remember when I used to see the camera on the shelf. She always told me that I wasn't allowed to touch it because I could break it, but that made me want to try it even more. Years went by, the digital photography evolved and the habit of taking film photos faded away. We saw it as an unnecessary expense at that moment.
By 2016, my older brother (@la8oratoriodealmas on Instagram) bought a digital Canon camera for his first photography project. He has always been such an inspiration for me, from clothing style to music. Just like a life teacher. He also started with analogue photography, with a small compact camera. It had a great optical zoom. I remember having so much fun zooming all the way. He made me discover this amazing analogue world. For me, he is so talented and he taught me how to take the best pics. Honestly, his support and advice means a lot to me. I used to borrow his camera to take some photos and I felt in love with the feeling of waiting to reveal the pic, not just randomly snapping.
With my first paycheck, in mid 2021, I was able to buy my first camera on Wallapop: an Olympus Mju II. I was eyeing it for a while, reading reviews of how versatile it is. And it fits in my pocket! Since then, I've been showing how I see the world alongside my group of wonderful friends. They are a big inspiration for me, because for taking photos you need to see a lot of photos. I'd like to mention them because they are people who contribute and show how Madrid and other places look from different perspectives: @caranorte__ @elmala013 @siempreatadas @camarasdeaire @l.araignee_ @knmoren0 @bradi.tama on Instagram These last two do not take photos but they are a great help for my inspiration and my way of seeing things.
How would you describe your style? What appears most often in your photos?
The truth is that I don't have a defined style yet. I let myself flow instead of pigeonholing myself into a specific style. However, there is a type of style that I would like to explore more: street photography. This style has a big impact on me. In addition to street photography, I also feel a deep connection with “costumbrismo” and the “everyday art”. I am passionate about capturing those little moments, although I have to learn how to feel comfortable and just have fun with this style.
Can you tell us a bit about these photos you took with Fisheye No.2 camera?
I had in mind using a Fisheye camera to capture the architecture of Madrid, exploring the perspective offered by the buildings, parks and every place. I wanted to focus on what I like, and on what caught more my attention, in addition to highlighting how fun it is to use this camera. It's so different! The LomoChrome film really brought out colors that are truly eye catching.
Are you satisfied with the look of these fisheye architecture shots?
Yes, I am! Very pleased with the appearance of the architecture captured with the Fisheye. The distortion of the lines and the unique features of the buildings give them a vibrant and special touch that highlights their beauty.
Do you have any future projects you would like to share with our community?
In short term, I would like to start with some portraits of my friends and try to step out of my comfort zone.
