Six Lomography Website Tools to Try Out
9 Share TweetBeyond a goldmine of stunning photos from talented and whimsical shutterbugs across the world, did you know that our very own Lomography website is also home to a few neat film-related tools?
In this tipster, we're perusing the Lomography website to share with you some creative and functional tools to try out. Let's get into it!
LomoWall
We're starting off with the latest in our website features, the LomoWall which recently made a comeback! LomoWalls are an important part of Lomography, and with the customizable LomoWalls in our LomoHomes we get to showcase some of our best or favorite photos our way.
Read our quick instruction article to create your own LomoWall. Meanwhile, here are some creative LomoWalls made and shared by community members @oukrid and @gaz to get you inspired!
Store Locator
Lomography has partners all over the world, and with the Lomography website store locator, you can easily find your nearest film stores, specialist photo labs, galleries, museums or retail partners. Search by country or by product, and check out each store's location on the map to find out the most accessible store to you!
Interested to know more about our partner stores? You can also read some of our special interviews with our Lomography Partners where we get to know more about them and their passion for analogue photography!
Guides & Manuals Downloads Page
How do you build a LomoMod, develop LomoChrome film, or change the aperture plates on the Daguerreotype Achromat? If you have questions like these, Lomography's Downloads section has your back. This compilation of Lomography's product manuals, package contents, development guides and more is a helping hand for any queries related to Lomography products, from cameras and film to lenses and accessories.
Lomography DigitaLIZA Lab Tool
Film development and scanning are definitely among the to-do lists for many film shutterbugs intending to improve at the craft. But whether you're new to film or not, the Lomography DigitaLIZA Lab Tool is an accessible and easy way to invert your scanned negatives, do some post-process such as fine-tuning the white balance and more, all online.
Just upload your negative, click the invert image option and play around with colors, or even turn your photo into black-and-white, then click the download button to save the results on your device. This online scanning tool also complements Lomography's DigitaLIZA line which makes scanning negatives with your phone or camera easier.
Creative Browse System
Community is one of the things we're proud of in Lomography, and we're always happy to discover photos from the thousands of LomoHomes on our website! If you're like us and love browsing new and old photos on different subjects, film cameras, and film stocks, you've probably wondered if you can browse by year, by LomoHome, or even by color.
The answer is, yes! The Lomography website allows you to browse through different categories such as cameras, films, lenses, tags, countries, cities, years, or time of day. You can also combine different tags to narrow down your search (for example: camera x film stock x city), by clicking on multiple tags in the Filter section of the page.
Interested in what the LomoChrome Purple looks like with the LomoApparat taken in Greece, Indonesia, or New York? This website function allows you to look for images in a more specific manner.
Random Photo & LomoHome Generator
Feeling a little...random? The Random Photo and LomoHome Generator are also some of the best ways to discover hidden gems on the Lomography website. Many LomoHomes have been around for a while and this function is a great way to be introduced to our community members and their wonderful images on film, and of course, also be inspired by their visions and ideas.
To access this function, click on the links above, or on the Lomography website, click on the triple bar button on the upper right side of the website (next to the search bar), and scroll down to the Photos and Homes sections to generate random photos and LomoHomes.
Additional Tip: Did you know that you can also watch short films made by our community members in the Movies section? Here are some examples from community member @satomi made with the LomoKino.
We hope this list inspires you to explore the Lomography website yourself and keep shooting film!
