Somroxyz Tests Our New LomoChrome Color '92 Sun-Kissed Film for a Photoshoot With Thai Musician Galchanie
2Thai film photographer and stylist Doungporn Nurarak, AKA Somroxyz, combines street, portrait, and fashion photography with our new LomoChrome Color ‘92 Sun-kissed film. She also invites singer Galchanie from YUPP to model and together create photos around the concept of "One Day with Galchanie."
Hello Somroxyz, how are you these days? Please tell us about yourself.
Hello, now I'm back to doing my own freelance work as a stylist, film photographer, and crystal & reiki healing therapist, which is under my own brand called Soul Matters By Som .
Tell us about the concept for this shoot. What and where did you decide to photograph?
For this project, I invited Pang, aka Galchanie, from YUPP to be a model. It was like dressing up and chilling, walking together. It created a mood from the sentence "One Day with Galchanie," which means taking a walk, taking fun photos, just chilling.
What were your first impressions when you saw the results? How would you describe the look of the new LomoChrome Color ‘92 Sun-kissed ?
I feel like the color is quite warm and has a bright sunshine feeling.
Most of your photography work is shot on film. Why do you still choose to use film in an era of digital photography?
I have to tell you that at first, before I came to take photos, I was a stylist. I came to take a photo for fun and then fell in love with it. It's a hobby for which I have a passion. One day I was approached to take a photo for a magazine. I thought it was fun, and I couldn't predict how the photos would come out. So it feels fun and exciting. The customers who come to me are also interested in the mood of the work and the moments that I capture. So I enjoy that and love to keep shooting film.
Did you face any challenges during this shoot?
The process of taking photos went smoothly and was fun.
Your photos express emotions so well. How do you communicate with models when taking fashion or portrait photography?
When it's time to communicate with the model, most of the time, I let them relax and be themselves. Other than that, I think it's a matter of the energy that I send to them and how they will communicate back.
Do you have a favorite shot taken with this film?
It's a difficult question to answer. I liked every photo I took! It was fun. Thank you for inviting me to do this!
