Hi, welcome to Lomography Magazine! Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you do.

Hello, I’m Slamet Riyadi, but you can call me Didi. I’m a lecturer and industrial designer who loves photography, especially analogue media. I enjoy blending my professional work with my passion for capturing the world around me through film.

Tell us about the concept for this shoot. What and where did you decide to photograph?

The concept for this shoot was a daily snapshot and documentary of my ordinary life. I focused on capturing moments from my everyday activities in Bandung, from interactions with family to scenes at my workplace, to showcase the beauty in the mundane.

What were your first impressions when you saw the results?

When I first saw the results, I was mesmerized. The LomoChrome Color ‘92 Sun-kissed film exceeded my expectations with its rich, warm tones and the way it highlighted the golden-hour light. It added a nostalgic and dreamy quality to the photos, which was exactly what I hoped to achieve.

How would you describe the look of the new LomoChrome Color ‘92 Sun-kissed ?

It has a unique ability to enhance warm tones, giving images a sunlit glow. It’s reminiscent of vintage summer photographs, with a slight orange hue that makes everything look bathed in sunlight. The colors are vibrant yet natural, creating a beautiful balance.

What do you think is the ideal situation for shooting the LomoChrome Color ‘92 Sun-kissed ?

The ideal situation for shooting with this film is during the golden hour, just before sunset. The light is soft and warm, perfect for capturing the essence of the film’s color profile. It’s also great for beach scenes, outdoor portraits, and any setting where you want to emphasize warmth and nostalgia.

Do you have a favorite shot taken with this film?

Yes, my favorite shots from this series are of my kids playing together at my desk in the office. The film captured the joy and innocence of my children perfectly, and the warm tones added a cozy feel to the shot of my workspace.

Did you face any challenges during this shoot?

The challenge for this roll was the light conditions during the last three months, which were mostly overcast and cloudy in Bandung. Finding the right moments when the sun peeked through was tricky, but it added to the excitement of capturing the perfect shot.

Have you also tried our original LomoChrome Color ‘92 film ? If so, how does this compare?

Yes, I have tried the original LomoChrome Color ‘92 film. While the original also produced beautiful results, the Sun-kissed version has a more pronounced warmth and a slightly different color balance that really enhances golden tones. It’s perfect for summer-themed photography.

In your opinion, what makes a great photo?

A great photo is one that evokes emotion and tells a story. It’s about capturing a moment in time that resonates with the viewer, whether through composition, light, color, or subject matter. It should draw the viewer in and make them feel connected to the scene.

This film is crafted to capture the magic glow of golden-hour. How would you spend a perfect summer evening?

A perfect summer evening for me would be spent by the beach, surrounded by friends and family. We’d enjoy a picnic, play some music, and watch the sunset together. It’s a time for relaxation, good conversation, and soaking in the beauty of the moment.

What one song would you choose to accompany a photo shoot with the LomoChrome Color ‘92 Sun-kissed?

I would choose “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. It perfectly complements the warm, uplifting feel of the LomoChrome Color ‘92 Sun-kissed film and enhances the joyful, summery vibe of the photoshoot.

What advice would you give to others shooting with this film?

My advice would be to embrace the warm tones and shoot during the golden hour whenever possible. Pay attention to how the light interacts with your subjects and look for opportunities to capture natural, candid moments. Don’t be afraid to experiment and see how the film responds to different lighting conditions and scenes. Enjoy the process and let the film’s unique qualities shine through in your work.
