Six Ways to Use the Lomomatic 110 Camera
1 8At Lomography we've long been dedicated to the 110 film format, keeping it alive with our growing line of 110 film stocks and now with the exciting Lomomatic 110 camera.
Some might wonder, why do we love to shoot 110? And what can you use the Lomomatic 110 for? Here's a quick list of inspirations for making the most out of this tiny wonder camera!
Take a trip around town
The Lomomatic is a perfectly pocketable camera because of its size and ease of use. For anyone new to film, 110 is perhaps the easiest way to grasp the basic principles of photography without too much pressure. Just like any other 110 film camera, with the Lomomatic you can easily load and unload a film roll, or even switch to another roll in the middle of using one.
But with the Lomomatic's fully automatic settings, controllable ISO, zone focusing, and interchangeable apertures, there's even more room for control and creativity. Adventures don't have to be so grand, you can take this tiny camera around town and see the world through a new vibrant lens!
Try it in all the colors
What's your mood for today? Whether you're out to capture spring in full bloom, or feel like turning your surroundings red, purple, turquoise or black and white, there's a Lomography 110 film stock for you.
Lomography is currently the only manufacturer of 110 film. Our line of 110 film includes the classic Color Tiger 110 ISO 200, the newest in our list, the LomoChrome Color ’92 110 ISO 400, and fun color-shifting film stocks LomoChrome Metropolis 110 ISO 100–400, LomoChrome Purple 110 ISO 100–400, LomoChrome Turquoise 110 ISO 100–400, and Lobster Redscale 110 ISO 200.
And of course we've made black and white available in 110 too with the B&W Orca 110 ISO 100. Each of these film stocks affect the vibe of your images, so one thing to do with the Lomomatic 110 is to go out and deliberately capture the world in the spectrum you prefer!
Get close to your subjects
Close-up shots are definitely underrated! Getting close is the best to capture our subject's expressions and make a memorable photo, and with the Lomomatic 110's glass lens you're sure to get clear close-ups even in a tiny 110 frame.
Whether it's to catch a silly moment with a click of your camera, or have someone pose for a cute photo, you can capture moments bursting with emotions!
Or far away
But that's not where the Lomomatic 110's capabilities end. This camera has a zone focusing function and a maximum aperture of f/2.8. It also has adjustable ISO settings of 100, 200 or 400, so maximize these features by experimenting with the distances of your subjects, and of course trying out a landscape photo or two!
With its petite build this also makes the Lomomatic a great travel buddy for situations where you want to take photos analogue style but don't want to be weighed down by bulkier cameras.
Take a simple photo
There's nothing like remembering a simple moment with a simple photo. We're the ones who put meaning into our own images, and anything we capture is a reflection of our own interests and curiosities. So look for those glimmers in daily life and make them last longer with a photo!
Get wild and creative!
Chase the ecstatic and breathe life into the unimaginable.
Packed with creative functions similar to many of Lomography's long line of cameras, there's more than one way to enjoy the Lomomatic 110. Try the multiple exposure function, insert color filters of your choice or use the night or day flash to unleash your creativity and give your photos some extra zazz!
However you choose to use the Lomomatic 110, just remember to approach photography with the free-spirited vision that is the driving force behind Lomography. Go out there and find moments that inspire you!
