Gallery: Experimental Memories with the Lomourette Half-Frame Camera

2

With the limitation of a certain amount of frames, we often find creative ways to tell stories with film photography. For those who want to get the most out of their 35 mm roll, or simply try and bring two photos together in a creative way, there is a whole realm of possibilities with half-frame cameras. These special cameras allow you to take double the shots and extend the life of your 35 mm roll! Let’s take a look at our own half-frame camera, the Lomourette, and see what the community has come up with.

The best thing about half-frame cameras is how we can prolong the use of a single film roll. As we are mostly used to having 36 frames, having double the amount gives us more room for creativity. For those who are slow shooters, it will take them a much longer time to finally complete a roll. One interesting thing is seeing how these seemingly far-off or unrelated images come together in one frame as an even more unique picture.

On the other hand, the opposite effect can also happen by creating parallel and related images through the half-frame. Crafting interconnected and related stories that are divided into two is another creative practice that many half-frame users have been experimenting with since its inception. Whether you want to capture moments in quick succession, frame specific details to create a cohesive photo or even just find your own way to capture something important to you, half-frame cameras like the Lomourette are a breath of fresh air when it comes to telling stories.

The Lomourette’s fun features allow you to be more daring when it comes to shooting in half frames. From unlimited multiple exposures where you can fit everything into the frame to creating endless panoramas by overlapping the frames, you can break the boundaries of what a half-frame camera can do. Add the lovable charm of the saturated lofi look that blends well with any film roll and you have a recipe for some magical photographs.
