Hello! Could you please introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello, My name is Mix. I graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University. Nowadays, I have changed my career to work in production, creating general media with both video and photos, and creating my personal content in my free time.
When did you start taking photos?
It started when I traveled abroad for the first time. I feel like it really broadened my horizons. I had the first opportunity to go abroad when I was in junior year, and then I also went to a work and travel program in America. I saw various places that I had only seen in movies right in front of me. I wanted to save the moment at that time, so I started to take photos.
What style of photography do you like in particular?
Actually, as you can see from my works, I try to keep exploring styles. I like every style, but if I really have to choose, it's probably landscape or street photos. It depends entirely on the timing.
How was your experience using the Petzval 55 mm f/1.7 MKII lens ?
What I like most is the uniqueness of the photos. I noticed many things in a way that people may not be interested in, such as the appearance of the photos that come out. It looks different from normal lenses. For example, I wanted something that looks cinematic and comes with bokeh. When I came across this lens, I immediately ordered it to try out.
What subject do you usually look for?
I like to take photos of natural attractions. In my heart, I always felt these places were very grand and beautiful without decoration. So I wanted to convey the grandeur and beauty of the place. It also depends on the context, because I actually like taking portrait photos too. Another thing that I like is architecture photography, because I studied in this field as well. When I take architecture photos, I always pay extra attention. I want it to look as neat and perfect as possible.
What's the concept of this photo set?
I took these photos while traveling and working. There is no back story at all. I just wanted photos that looked cinematic, like something straight out of a movie. So I used this lens to capture various situations, whether in the city or in a portrait. I feel that when I use this lens, if I choose a good background, it gives very beautiful blurred background photos. When I see something beautiful, I feel very happy.
If you were asked to create a lens, what would that lens be like?
I would like a lens that has very special characteristics. It would be different from the photos that you can see in the media today. No matter what unique aspect it has, I would like to get that lens as well.
Do you have any tips for portrait photographers that are using the Petzval 55 mm f/1.7 MKII lens for the first time?
Don't wait, try it now! This lens is really fun to use to take portrait photos. It's best to compose the subject in the center, so the edges of the photos will be especially blurred and look like they're out of focus. You could choose a good background because this lens really gives a very special look.
