American rock band Portugal. The Man recently made a huge comeback with their newest album 'Chris Black Changed My Life', a tribute to their late band member, Chris Black, who passed in 2019. After an emotional six years since their last album 'Woodstock', the Oregon-based band has managed to balance their signature refreshing and playful sound with explorations of vulnerability and grief.
"The show itself was high energy from the intimate venue filled with dedicated fans. The band played a mix of their past hits, tunes from the new record, and even covers of songs that inspire their music. The band was extremely welcoming and had a strong sense of community and appreciation for each other, and the fans." – Stephen.
Portugal. The Man is actually a long-time LomoAmigo! Stephen was able to follow them backstage and shoot some behind the scenes.
Stephen chose the right film for this moment, as Lomography 800 's high ISO and stunning sharpness helped take in the low-light environment.
"[It] was my first time shooting CN800 with flash, and [I] loved how much it retained its color saturation and how it increased contrast to make the subjects really pop on the image. During the show without flash, the high speed film allowed me to capture the ever changing lighting and mood of the show with a tasteful amount of grain." – Stephen.
What a show!
