Two Versions of a Winterscape—By the Heinz Brothers

9

During the previous Christmas holidays, brothers Gérard and Stéphane Heinz (@gheinz and @vicuna, respectively) took a stroll around a nearby lake with their cameras. The frosty winter scenery was truly a magnificent sight, and we get to see this from two different perspectives!

Metallic Winter

Gérard's photos were in an album he called "Metallic Winter" and it's easy to see why. A Lubitel 166U loaded with Cinestill 800T (a tungsten-balanced color negative film) resulted in these icy, silvery-blue images. A pop of color as seen in the signpost makes a nice contrast to the cold colors.

Classic Winter

Stéphane opted for black and white in 35 mm format. For these photos, he used a Minolta ⍺7 and a roll of Kodak Tri-X 400. The photos emitted a timeless monochromatic look and a sense of mystery!

Another winter is just around the corner and we wonder if the Heinz brothers will be going on yet another scenic exploration with their cameras?
