Come one, come all. Lomography has partners all over the world to help serve your analogue needs. If you're from Greece then it's your lucky day! We're featuring our Athens-based stockist Denise of Skiadopoulos LTD in today's installment of Lomography Partners.
Can you introduce yourself to the Lomography community?
Hello! I am Denise Skiadopoulos. I studied photography at Leica Academy Greece, and I'm also a graduate of Business Administration Management. My sister and I run our own photographic company, Skiadopoulos LTD—representing top brands such as Leica, Lomography, and many others!
What does analogue mean to you?
Analogue means authenticity for me, along with the creative possibilities—and constraints— that come with film. There’s surely something romantic about it, like vinyl and other analog tech. Film has an enduring, authentic appeal and is making a comeback among professionals and amateurs alike. I also think there’s a quality to film that really cannot be matched by a digital image
What does Lomography mean to you?
Lomography means a lot to me—so many emotions, feelings, memories, freedom, creativity and many more...
Why do you choose to work with Lomography?
It was love at first sight!
What is your favorite Lomography product and why?
Well, it’s difficult to choose, since all cameras can offer you amazing images! But the LC-A+ is my all-time love—the lens, the pictures, and the size of the camera are just perfect!
Are you doing any creative projects right now in the store or personally? Please tell us more about them.
Due to this strange period of Covid, it's difficult to organize any project in the store, but this hasn't stopped me from shooting photos!
What does the future of analogue photography look like to you? How will this impact your business in the next ten years?
Analogue photography has been around for over a century. Film isn’t going anywhere, not for a while at least. It gives you lessons and teaches you about light and composition. It’s just different and that’s why it’ll stick around.
What difficulties did your store/lab have to face during the lockdowns and what kept you going through these hard times?
Well, it wasn't the only one… but we tried to keep thinking positive!
