Masthead Series: A Weekend With...

Lomography is proud to collaborate with Masthead, an online platform that celebrates curiosity, open-mindedness, and reflection through collections of art, photography, and storytelling. For their ongoing issue A Weekend With , we sent over a few Lomography Simple Use Reloadable Film Cameras, which they distributed among artists to document their weekend. Here is a snippet of the features:

MELANIE MASARIN is a Los Angeles-based founder and CEO of the company Ghia, a non spirits apéritif. She was inspired to combine her passion of hosting with her professional experiences in retail, marketing, and hospitality.

Excerpt from magazine:

What brought you joy this weekend?

It was raining most of the weekend, so we cooked a bunch and had people over. I made an apricot galette with my friend Alex, and it turned out incredibly pretty and delicious. She went to pastry school, so I love working alongside her because I always learn new tips.

Ideal Saturday evening?

Hosting a dinner party on my balcony! The friends will come and go, and a core crew will start dancing…

Did shooting with your Lomography camera allow you to look at your weekend in a new way?

It was my first weekend off in a while, and I made it a point to stay off my phone as much as possible. There is something refreshing about taking a photo on the Lomography camera and not being able to see the image immediately after. I was more purposeful with each shot and I’m excited for the memories when I see them.
