Fabulously Analogue: How Feifain Parties with Film2 12 Share Tweet
Taipei-based drag queen and Lomographer feifain always lives in the moment, and their approach to analogue photography is just as spontaneous and instinctive through a wild cocktail of techniques with film.
Feifain's photographs remind us of Warhol's The Factory parties -- bright flash that pop the colors of costumes and make-up of diverse icons , queens and personalities -- though feifain's have a stronger sense of movement. Light painting and multiple exposure techniques are frequently used their presence as if mimicking the fast-moving disco lights in night parties. These pictures are for feifain's keepsakes, but we love how, in a way, they also document the drag scene in the city so stylishly.
The photographer uses their La Sardina and Diana Mini cameras quite a lot, often their companion to these parties. These simple yet powerful cameras are always handy for quick snaps and impulsive experiments. We can't wait for your next gathering of queens, feifain!
