Racquet Film in partnership with Racquet Studio is set to release a new “all-in-one” film photography resource in the form of a book and it’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated projects that tackle different subjects in film photography. From what we know, it has an estimated 300+ page count and touches on over 100 topics.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Racquet Film, they are a photo agency and film lab that does professional processing, scanning, and even framing. They also represent over 30 international artists and offer classes, camera sales, and repairs out of their shop in Brisbane, Australia. Racquet Film takes pride in their professional work, having done campaigns and providing content for different big name brands from all over the world.
Their new book titled The Modern, Opinionated, Film Photography Journal features the work of over 30 photographers and reflects on the place of film photography in this day and age. According to their site, the exact release date is still yet to be announced but their target is close to winter of 2018.
Racquet Film has been pretty much quiet about their new project but we got in touch with Sam, one of their editors, and he’s been kind enough to provide us with some information about the book. According to Sam, this new book talks about the hybrid state of photography with both film and digital formats coexisting in one ever-changing landscape.
This is still a developing story so be on the lookout for our updates. We’re still waiting on information from Racquet Film and we’re excited to see what they have in store for all of us. If you’re interested in the book, you may head over to their website for more information. What we can confirm now is that it’s currently available for pre-order on their site.
