Recap: Queen in 3D Launch Night

2

Lomography Gallery Soho had been planning an exhibition of stereoscopic images taken by Brian May since last year. Finally, everything seemed set and we had an official date for the launch. Store Manager Holly Buckle did an amazing job of curating the show and making sure we had lots of Monkey Shoulder whiskey cocktails on tap for the opening night.

We had Queen fans from all over the UK traveling to see the show and we invited along lots of regular community members such as Stephen Dowling, Jimmy Cheng and Joel Byron. What nobody really expected was that the man himself would turn up to the night!

Brian arrived at about 16h45 and had his picture taken outside the shop, creating quite a shock for the outside drinkers in the pub opposite. He was really interested in the shop and wanted to know about all the Lomography cameras and lenses.

He loved the Lomowall idea too. Brian stayed for around 2 hours and chatted to all the staff members and fans, happy to have his picture taken and sign some autographs.

He even showed some of us how to use the OWL viewer with his book, to enable the full 3D effect.

This exhibition runs until June 13th and signed copies of the Queen in 3D book are available to purchase exclusively at the Lomography Gallery Store Soho (cash only.) To find more about this book visit the London Sterescopic Company website.
