Here in New York City, four friends, Lucas, Jake, Lucas, and Steele, come together to form an indie rock called The Britanys. Gaining popularity in the US as well as the UK with features in DIY, NME, and Rolling Stone magazines, it's only a matter of time before they take the world by storm. At their Baby's All Right show with InHeaven, LomoAmigo Sophia Ragomo and her Lomo Instant Wide and Lomo'Instant Automat spent some time with the band before their show to check out what really happens behind-the-scenes.
Before the show began, Ragomo snapped a few portraits of the group with the Lomo'Instant Wide and Lomo'Instant Automat Glass. The band was extremely fun and enthusiastic throughout the whole shoot, with their personalities on full display in the photographs below.
Finally, it was time to take the stage. With a cool 80s-esque vibe all their own, The Britanys had the audience captivated throughout their entire set. The group began laid-back, but as the set went on, brought out an exciting, high-energy stage presence. New song "When I'm With You" especially shined. (You can check out the video here) It is clear that this group is on the verge of something big, so be sure to catch them at an intimate venue while you still can.
Created last summer by music photographer Sophia Ragomo, this backstage series aims to get a variety of musicians and music fans alike excited about what's possible with film photography. With the ability to use flash in a smaller venue, the Lomography Color 400 ISO film was used in the making of this piece. A special thanks to manager Moriah Berger and The Britanys for being so eager to participate and help keep film photography alive.
