TEN AND ONE Annual Lomography Photo Awards 2018: March Winners (Part 2)

Last month's qualifying rounds for the TEN AND ONE Awards welcomed the slow approach of spring and encouraged everyone to try something new—whether it's photographing the great outdoors or meeting the heroes of their hometown. Here, we proudly present the winning snapshots that topped the Monochrome, Breaking Boundaries, Now or Never, Game Changers categories.

Time Stands Still

Good things come to those who wait. For the winners of our Monochrome challenge, it comes in the form of stunning long exposure photographs.

Grand Prize Winner:

Here's what the jury has to say about this photo:

Shooting landscapes on B-mode makes it possible to create calm scenes out of chaos. Lomographer gregoire1969 melted out what seems to be big, crashing waves into a serene, painterly photograph.

Local Icons

What we remember the most when we travel are the the people we crossed paths with. Last month's Breaking Boundaries competition introduced us to the merchants, tour guides, and strangers who made the journey on a foreign land memorable.

Grand Prize Winner:

Credits: fufoo

Here's what the jury has to say about this photo:

Sometimes, it's easy to just take a photo of a stranger and move on without even knowing more about them. This eye-catching photo by fufoo seems to be made out of respect and mutual trust. There's ease and confidence with the way his subject poses for the camera, a relaxed atmosphere that can only be achieved through a friendly conversation.

Explorers of the World

To welcome the arrival of spring, the Now or Never challenge asked Lomographers to take out their instant cameras on their next outdoor adventures.

Grand Prize Winner:

Credits: michal_vavro

Here's what the jury has to say about this photo:

This sight of blue sky and wild grass captured by michal_vavro inspired us to head out and take in the beauty of nature. To experiment with perspective and see familiar views in a new way.

World as a Frame

Looking for a fresh way to photograph mundane scenes? Take inspiration from the Game Changers competition and use everyday objects as on-the-spot frames.

Grand Prize Winner:

Credits: righthandside

Here's what the jury has to say about this photo:

righthandside clever framing draws our attention to the quiet, day-to-day interaction of the people residing in this lovely city. A charming insight to what a typical day in this street looks like!
