Thai photographer Gong Piyathath always impresses us with his creative work, so we gave him a Lomo'Instant Square to try out. Get to know more about him and see his instant shots in this interview.
Hello Gong, how was your recent trip to Melbourne? What have you been up to since our last interview?
I had so different experiences there! Because I lived alone, there were times that I felt quite lonely, but you eventually get through it when you meet lots of new and exciting people. Everyone was genuinely so kind. I travelled around lots of new places which was very exciting. I tried out lots of new things like the Lomo'Instant Square!
What inspires you?
I find inspiration in my everyday life. I am very lucky to have people around me that are so supportive like my model, Hattaya Sae-ngow. I think motivation comes from the inside, and you can make yourself happy and creative by reading your favorite books, just chilling with friends, or watching movies.
If we made you choose, which of the photos from this series would be your favorite?
I really like this simple selfie to be honest. But I like all the photos, I think I got some awesome results!
What is it that you like about the Lomo'Instant Square?
Normally, I love a format 1:1 camera, so I am excited that I got the Lomo'Instant Square. The quality of lens is nice, and I love the colours and the results.
What tips would you give someone who wants to do the same thing as you?
Keep playing! Always try to fill each day with happiness and positive energy. Shoot your own, individual angles; everyone has their own style, you just have to find it. Shoot what you love and you're guaranteed to show others your happiness.
