Last month Lomography UK celebrated 25 years of Lomography by building a great big Lomowall on Ganton St, Soho. We launched this in the same week as the Carnaby St Street party and it grabbed a lot of people's attention.
After weeks of careful planning, measuring and sticking we launched the Ganton St Lomowall to the world! In celebration of 25 Years of Lomography, we teamed up with the Carnaby St team to hold the mother of all parties.
The party started at 5 pm and the Soho Staff wrapped up extra warm and headed out with our Lomo'Instant Wide cameras in hand to document the night. Next to the Lomowall was a free cocktail bar serving drinks from a VW camper van. As people queued up for a tipple we snapped them against the wall. We even managed to catch some local policemen on the beat.
There were hundreds of people walking past the wall and quite a few people stopped for a picture and a look around. Later on, there was a street DJ set from Norman Jay. Lots of locals, shoppers and community members came to see the wall and have their picture taken with it.
It was a great night to showcase the creativity and diversity of Lomography and everyone loved it! As you can see from the photos the Lomowall brought a blast of color to the street!
We would like to thank Little Tarsier Productions for braving the cold for hours on end to make the wonderful Lomowall time-lapse film.
