Photographer Claude Mollard in "Imaginary Anthropology"

The multi-faceted man that is Claude Mollard is one of France's most dedicated practitioner and official of contemporary art and photography, particularly in his home country.

Before deciding on his fate as a photographer, Mollard held a political career that leaned mostly in the preservation of culture and arts in the government -- establishing art and photography schools and art museums, producing shows, launching art projects and such.

Mollard then decided to make public of his photography -- a passion in which he has been doing for more than 40 years. It is revealed that the images are sort of textures of nature -- an anthropomorphic landscape. Christine Buci-Glucksmann would call the images "faces before the gods.".

Claude uses photography as a tool of investigation, mixing art history and philosophy.

Catch the show Claude Mollard: an Imaginary Anthropology at European House of Photography in Paris, running through January 7, 2018.
