Hello! Welcome to the Lomography Magazine. Please introduce yourself to our readers.

Hello! I am Denise Skiadopoulos. I studied photography at ‘Leica Academy Greece’, and Business Administration Management. Together with my sister we are running our own photographic company, Skiadopoulos LTD, representing top brands such as Leica, Lomography, and many others!

How did your interest with photography start?

I come from a family who has been in the photography field for many many years, so the attraction was inevitable!

How would you define photography? What makes it worth pursuing?

The word by itself says it all! Its Greek origin means ‘drawing with light’! Photography is a beautiful tool of creativity, expression and communication, a universal language.

What inspires you?

Oh many things! Moments, feelings, people! Especially my daughter who has become my main muse!

What makes a good photograph?

Photography is an art and I believe that art cannot be objectively evaluated. However, I personally feel that a good photo benefits a great deal from a composition, light, and emotion. Or, putting it in just one phrase, it should simply ‘grab the eye’!

Any advice that you’d like to give aspiring photographers?

See a lot of photos, art exhibitions, movies, read books, don’t be afraid to get closer to your subject and don’t stop shooting!
