Fueled by his passion for photography, lomographer Rocco Iudici (@roccooiud) spearheaded the construction of a LomoWall in Armeno, a quaint little town in North Italy. Here, Rocco talks more about their mini celebration, from building the exhibit to the event itself!
Hello! I am Rocco and I come from Armeno, a little town close the d’Orta Lake, in North Italy. I am 22 years old and I am really passionate about photography.
I have been shooting with digital cameras for many years, but last year I have become interested in analog photography. I went to London with my Smena Symbol, where I experimented new photographic techniques and free my creativity. During that time, I discovered the Lomography Gallery Store and its LomoWall bursting with all kinds of photos.
I got so fascinated by it that I wanted to realize something similar to admire every day. One day, while visiting the Lomography website, I noticed an article about the 25th Anniversary of Lomography and the possibility of creating a LomoWall Exhibition. I thought it was a great idea and I subscribed immediately.
I organized the exhibition is the cafe in my village: small but full of people, both local and tourists. To celebrate it in a good way, my cousin, who has always been passionate about music, played some tunes. The wall (5.40 x 1 m) was built with a pink polystyrene that I found at home. On the wall, we arranged 360 photos (15x10).
The party was held last 4th November. A lot of people came to admire the LomoWall and many took some pictures to share on social media which you can see using the #25YearsOfLomography and #LomowallArmeno.
I did not expect to receive some many compliments and that the event would have been so successful! This is why we decided to leave the wall in the cafe for longer.
