A few months ago we set up a series of competitions asking you, our lovely Lomographers to submit your best shots representing different cities from all over the world. We picked lots of winners whose images would be featured in a series of Lomowalls set up all over the world as part of our 25 year anniversary celebrations.
The Lomography UK team had just two weeks to make our 8.5 meter Lomowall. We all helped out cropping and arranging the photos and painstakingly sticking them down on our special panels. Wholesale manager Bea helped out along with our shop staff Viv, Flore and Christina (also know as Rockett). General Manager Craig cropped some of the images and declared that he had messed it up a bit (not using those words exactly.)
It took about 4 days to complete the wall design and then another two days to make it waterproof. Holly, the shop manager did a great job of varnishing the panels on a rainy Saturday morning. Once the panels were ready it was time for some real work.
Early on a Monday morning we were met buy Aaron the builder who had a big stack of wood, some power tools and a pencil in his ear. He set to work straight away making a wooden frame which he attached to the wall with some builders straps.
The Ganton St Lomowall is on display until Dec 9th. Shoot a picture in front of the wall and share with the hashtags #lomowalllondon or #lomocarnaby and you could win some prizes!
