Move over, selfies. The art of taking one's self portrait has been a long-running tradition, and if you want to raise your "selfie" game, why not relearn the rubrics and depth of self-portraiture?
Everyone does it. Painters do it, photographers do it. Even musicians and writers do it. What sets the artist apart from the mere selfie-taker is the artist has pretty much thought out how he would want to be seen in an image or artwork. Believe it or not, many photographers and painters interpret their "self-portraiture" in surrealism or abstraction.
