It's becoming a trend among serious analogue photographers to make their own gear from scratch -- be it from the compact 35mm, to medium 120, to large format for silver gelatin processes. Photographer Dieter Schneider is one of those photographers.
He began building his own cameras five years ago, in which last year he built a 4x5 camera with a CNC machine. This time he made an 8x10 large format camera by hand without computer machinery. He used cherrywood and brass, the camera meant for wet plate photography.
Watch how he built his camera step by step here.
