Known as one of the most important contemporary artists and photographers today, Wolfgang Tillmans is known for his exploration of the photographic medium's foundations through a diverse body of work and observation.
Initially known for his snapshot style of photography, the German documentarian refuses that his autobiographical and diaristic approach is intended, and often attributes it to a misunderstanding, as he takes pictures to see the world, not to take a picture on how he sees the world.
Tillmans was the first photographer and non-British person to be awarded the Tate's Turner Prize.
In this video is not just Tillmans as a photographer and artist, but as well as a man of passion in music. Get to know the photographer through this short bio.
