Lomography Soho Workshops and Events in October

Autumn is our favourite season and it’s the perfect time to capture the last bursts of colour before the frost sets in. Join us for some exciting new workshops and events this month, and don’t forget to bring a scarf.

Saturday 7th October 1pm: Double Trouble With the Lomo LC-A+

One Film. Two Photographers. Two different views of Soho. Take part in our double exposure workshop with the Lomo LC-A+. Randomly select one of our pre-exposed film rolls to learn the magic of unknown double exposure and help disguise our secret Soho spots ready for our scavenger hunt on the 21st of October.

This workshop is £10 and includes the loan of a Lomo LC-A+ camera, a roll of 35mm film and developing costs, plus a chance to win prizes. You must pre-book as spaces are limited. Ring 02074341466 now!

Friday 13th Sunday - 15th October: Laura Nicholson’s Drawing Beyond that Frame

A continuous drawing performance work by artist Laura Nicholson will be taking over the Lomography Gallery Store, from the windows to the floor to the walls. Laura Nicholson deconstructs the image of the body while emphasizing the embodied and performative aspects of mark making. Join us in this live work that opens up a narrative about performance, body, space and frame in a post-photography age.

This event is free, and open to the public.

Wednesday 18th October 11am-7pm: Happy Birthday to the Diana F+

Come join us at the Soho store for this very special birthday event! Turn back time to the 1970s and celebrate the heyday of the original Diana, and in turn celebrate 10 years of the Diana F+ Camera with our discotheque-themed Diana F+ instant photobooth, plus enjoy some complimentary miniature 70s inspired cocktails… and 20% off selected Diana F+ camera editions & Diana Accessories.

Saturday 21st October 1pm: Soho Scavenger Hunt with the Lomo’Instant Wide

Come and de-code our scavenger hunt! Using the blind shot double exposure images from our previous workshop, try and track down our secret Soho spots. Take a Lomo’Instant Wide and one of our zines along to help you mark out where you’ve been and record new places you discover on your trip. Come back to the shop and have a beer with us as we unveil our map with the hidden location and you can put up your new discoveries alongside them to build the ultimate photography map of Soho.

Saturday 28th October 12pm: Highgate Cemetery Tour – Ghosts, Spirits, Auras and Ectoplasm with the Diana F+

Join us at our Lomography Gallery Store in Soho, where we will run through how to use the Diana F+ camera, and give you some insight as to how photographic accidents and early manipulation lead to occult photography in the 1800s. We will talk about how to create ‘Ghosts, spirits, auras, ectoplasm’ in-camera and 100% analogue! We will head for the fantastic backdrop of Highgate Cemetery’s east side, and whist enjoying a walking tour create our own unique images.

This workshop is £15 and includes the loan of a Diana F+ camera, a roll of 120 film, entry to Highgate & developing costs. You must pre-book as spaces are limited. Ring 02074341466 now!
