Filmmaker James Cameron is one of the most successful people in cinema to date and is one of the definers of contemporary mainstream cinema with his excessive use of special effects and epic themes. Now, what does it take to inspire a filmmaker such as Cameron?
You'll be quite astonished by his top five favorite films: "The Wizard of Oz, "Doctor Strangelove", "2001: A Space Odyssey", "The Godfather", and "Taxi Driver". When one looks back at his filmography, it actually quite makes sense. Cameron, like Stanley Kubrick (his favorite filmmaker, possibly), was a patron for technological advancement in cinema and techniques, and while Wizard of Oz isn't as such, Cameron loved the grandeur and spectacle of the themes.
