The Ultimate Guide to B&W 400 35mm Film Stock

2017-09-04

Photographer Andrew Branch took the duty of reviewing the majority of black and white film stocks available in the market for a detailed study on each brand. From each film's history, quality to price, this might just be one of the best comparative film photography videos out there.

"I’m not doing this for them. I’m making this guide because I haven’t found anything else out there that does this sort of in-depth comparison, which includes the new films released in 2017." said Branch.

A total of 13 brands were reviewed and used while using the same film developer: Ilford XP2 Super, Foma, Kentmere 400, JCH StreetPan 400, Kodak Tri-X 400, Bergger Pancro 400, AGFA APX 400, Rollei Retro 400S, Ilford HP5+, Kodak T-MAX 400, Ilford Delta 400 Pro, Ultrafine Xtreme 400, and Rollei RPX 400.

To find out more about Branch's comprehensive study, watch the hour-long video below. You might just find the perfect B&W for you.
