First Impressions of the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System: Nicolette Clara Iles
12 Share TweetNicolette Clara Iles is a UK-based photographer who enjoys shooting with film to create surreal portraits. We lent her the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System plus some new LomoChrome Purple film and Lomography X-Pro film to test out.

Hello! Tell us a bit about your photography background.
I started taking pictures properly when I was 16/17 years old and haven't really stopped since! It began as just little snaps but now it's something I really adore.

What would you call your photography style?
Surreal, based in dreams but not quite 'dream-like', colorful, emotional.
What was your first impression upon seeing and holding the Convertible Art Lenses?
They're so light! It's quite an intuitive feeling to use them too, familiar and brand-new at the same time.
How does the Convertible Art Lens System fit into your (photography) style?
Quite well actually - I like the shapes you can get in the bokeh, and surprisingly, the control you get with the focus, etc. So it fits in my work in the way that I can play and be a little technical at once. The effects you can achieve are definitely worth it!
Any pointers that one should keep in mind when using the Convertible Art Lenses?
Just remember to get your settings right, and have fun!
