Winter Getaway

Known as the capital of Alentejo or the Museum City, Évora is like a fable where history is discovered on every corner. From the Celts, to the Roman Empire, through the Moors we can find remains left behind in this magical scenario.

Whitewashed houses and medieval streets, monumental churches, historic squares, are the testimony of everything that come up over the centuries.

The outskirts of the city are filled with wheat fields and hills, lakes and streams, lonely landscapes of unique beauty …

The people of Alentejo are amongst the most hospitable in Portugal, and the gastronomy is very rich. Try out “Sopa de Cação” or the “Migas” along with “Pataniscas de Bacalhau”, its love at first bite.

Also known by his fabulous wines, the whole region has eight sub-regions of the Denomination of Origin of Alentejo: Reguengos, Borba, Redondo, Vidigueira, Evora, Granja-Amareleja, Portalegre and Moura.

Its possible to explore the Rota dos Vinhos do Alentejo and get to know the vines and the cellars.

The city is surrounded by medieval walls, and inside of it all the majors attraction spots are well done by foot.

Some spots worth visiting:

The Diana Temple:

The Chapel of Bones:
