Guess Who’s Back… The Fleeting Return of the Lomography Color Negative F²/400 Film

2017-05-10 3

Earlier this year we were chuffed to launch a very memorable type of 35mm film: the Lomography Color Negative F²/400. We had recovered it from the last ever supply of an Italian filmmaker, and stocked it for seven years in special conditions. Much sought after for the film's nostalgic aesthetic, beautiful blue tones, with hints of X-Pro character, the F²/400 35mm rolls flew off our shelves like hotcakes – and rapidly went out of stock worldwide.

But today there's a twist in the story!

We held back a few very last rolls of Lomography Color Negative F²/400, which we are releasing today. They’re made of the same marvelous stuff as the original F²/400 – so expect the colors, tones, and grain that stole our hearts. But these 35mm rolls have a special quirk — an extra streak of analogue magic: introducing the F²/400 Watermark edition.

Within the film's seven year history, something unexpected happened to this batch: the result is a discreet yet distinctive pink streak that has seeped into the film, and shows up on certain frames — no saying when, no saying why.

You guys know better than anyone what's the beauty of film: it's alive with chemistry – no two pictures are the same. The F²/400 Watermark wears analogue love on its sleeve. What’s more, these unique markings make the F²/400 Watermark specifically recognizable.

Finally, at USD/EUR 3.90 a roll, the F²/400 is our cheapest ever film – ideal for test shoots, parties, and spontaneous everyday awesomeness. So embrace the life’s happy accidents, and enjoy la vie en rose!

    Hi,
Thanks for asking. It was a just a joking comment, as I thought it is funny how they've marketed a faulty product in a witty way!Ithink Lomo really has a sense of humour sometimes :)
As for the film, to be honest I have yet to shoot a roll. But I feel, as a Lomo product, grains and color shift are all part of the fun. It is an expired films and an old emulsions at the end of the day. Hope you have fun shooting with yours too :)
